Anshul is a Partner in the Direct tax practice group in the Bengaluru office. She has over 17 years of experience in areas of corporate taxation, tax litigation and transaction advisory. Her prior experience includes corporate development with a seafood start-up involving global acquisitions and expansion, and 14 years with the direct tax and regulatory practice of a Big4 firm.
Anshul advises on tax litigation strategies for matters such as permanent establishment, premium taxation, issues affecting new age technology companies, tax refund management, etc. Anshul brings expertise in complex matters such as Indian general anti-avoidance rules, treaty eligibility, corporate re-organisation, indirect transfer taxation, etc. Anshul further has expertise in regulatory approvals for a range of transactions such as debt re-organisation, advising on matters such as Press Note 3 (PN3) etc.
She has advised large multinationals with inbound and outbound focus, in different sectors like technology, retail, pharma, e-commerce, entertainment, seafood, etc.
She brings strategic expertise in structuring, managing transactions and leading acquisitions for growth and value creation as well as on transaction tax matters, especially in cross border structuring and withholding tax advice. She has designed holding structures keeping in mind various parameters (regional SPVs, tax efficiencies, seat of management, listing / capital markets objectives) and brings hands-on experience with target acquisitions in Europe and the USA.
