RBI has overhauled the regulatory regime for cross border guarantees wherein one or more of the parties involved is a person resident outside India (PROI) vide issuance of a new set of regulations, being the Foreign Exchange Management (Guarantees) Regulations, 2026 dated 6 January 2026 (New Guarantee Regulations).
