Khaitan & Co acted as the legal counsel and advised Motilal Oswal Alternates, the alternative investments arm of Motilal Oswal Group, in the setup of their sixth real estate fund in India (India Realty Excellence Fund VI) and the setup of a feeder fund in GIFT City.
The fund’s portfolio is primarily focused on mid-income residential developments designed to meet the rising demand from urban home buyers. The fund has announced its final closing having raised INR 2,000 crores from domestic and offshore investors, including family offices and HNIs, which ranks among the largest and fastest domestic capital raises in India’s real estate credit space.
