Acted as the domestic legal counsel to the Government of India in relation to the offer for sale of equity shares through stock exchange mechanism of Coal India Limited held by the President of India, acting through and represented by the Ministry of Coal, Government of India (“GoI”) for USD 724.5 million approximately.
Advised the underwriters in relation to the initial public offering of HDFC Asset Management Company Limited comprising of an offer for sale by Housing Development Finance Corporation Limited and Standard Life Investments Limited aggregating to INR 28,003.31 million. HDFC Asset Management Company Limited is the largest Asset Management Company (“AMC”) and its IPO was the largest IPO by an AMC.
Advised in relation to bulk deal involving the shares of Tata Consultancy Services equivalent to INR 1.38 billion.
Advised the underwriters in relation to the initial public offering of Chalet Hotels Limited aggregating to INR 16,411.80 million. This was the first transaction to include the Unified Payments Interface mechanism, recently introduced by SEBI, for applications in the IPO by retail investors.
Advised the underwriters in relation to the QIP of Jindal Steel and Power Limited aggregating to INR 12,000 million. This was one of the largest QIPs of 2018
Advised as the sole counsel in relation to the initial public offering of Sandhar Technologies Limited aggregating to INR 5,124.80 million. Sandhar Technologies Limited’s IPO was one of the block buster IPOs of 2018 and was oversubscribed 6.18 times
